Healthy eating outside the home can be quite challenging but it’s certainly not impossible! More and more restaurants are including plant-based meals on the menu and chefs are eager for a chance to create a unique meal. The following are tips to help you while eating out at restaurants:




  • Focus on whole foods: fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes
  • Look for ingredients on the menu- piece together your own meal as the restaurant may not indicate a dish is veg-friendly 
  • Don’t be afraid to ask the wait staff if the chef can put something together for you
  • Focusing on hearty soups, beans, and starchy vegetables will fill you up
  • Make a meal out of a few sides
  • Call ahead and let the restaurant know your dietary requests
